At The Law Office of Mark C. Thompson, I serve families in transition: Marriage, Divorce, Children, and Death. Each client's situation is different, but all of my client's have two things in common: 1. They are experiencing or planning for a change in life, and 2. They need and deserve a qualified attorney, that they can trust, to help them.

1. Be flexible - If we need to meet, I make myself available to you when and where it is convenient for you. The last thing I want to do is become one more obstacle that is causing you stress during a difficult time. Regarding fees, I feel that my rates are highly competitive with those of my peers, and I frequently work out custom payment plans with my clients so that they can have an attorney working for them.
2. Give each case my personal attention - I am a solo attorney. When you hire me, you work with a lawyer, not a paralegal, not a law clerk. I limit the number of cases that I take so I can give each client the attention that they deserve. I give each client my full dedication, and I demand that my clients are honest with me.
3. Provide quality services - Each case is different, and there are numerous ways to handle each case. Some cases can be resolved through negotiation or by working with the other party. Other cases have no hope for a mutual agreement, and it is necessary to go to trial. I strive to allow each client to understand his or her options and the risks involved with each option. Ultimately it is my client's decision as to how to proceed, but I do my best to make sure they are making an informed decision.
4. Be sensitive - Often, I come into contact with people during what is the worst time of their lives, and I take it very seriously. My clients are thinking about ending a marriage, they have been served with confusing paperwork, they have lost a loved one, or they fear losing their children or property. I help my client's make informed decisions, rather then rash, emotional decisions.
