San Antonio Prenuptial Agreements Attorney

As an experienced family law attorney, I have helped many clients who sought my services because they tried to handle their divorces themselves but were quickly overwhelmed by the process, or who had no idea where to start in the first place. I am a firm believer that it is better to do things right the first time and avoid the time, expense and frustration that come with having to protect a client’s interests when the other side is in a position of strength.

What I have learned — and what I now tell clients who are curious about a pre- or postnuptial agreement — is that the best divorce planning begins before you ever get married. Many individuals and couples are initially hesitant to consider a prenuptial agreement before their wedding or a postnuptial agreement afterward — and I understand why some couples might be turned off by the idea at first.

At the same time, wouldn’t you want to know what your spouse would and would not be entitled to in the future, and wouldn’t you want to give yourself (and your spouse) the peace of mind of knowing how things will be handled in a worst-case scenario? Wouldn’t you want to know that your fiancé(e) or spouse will be provided for and that you could both avoid the ill will that marks so many other divorce cases?

Are You Interested In A Post-Nuptial Agreement?

Like many other areas of family law in Texas, drafting a pre- or postnuptial agreement is not a one-size-fits-all process. I will work closely with you to identify your assets and other financial resources, as well as your goals for you and your fiancé(e) or spouse should your relationship end in divorce.

Your agreement can address as few or as many items as you want, but most agreements usually address property division and spousal maintenance/alimony at a minimum. Ultimately, I want your financial and personal interests to be protected for the long term and to give you confidence that a prenuptial or postnuptial agreement can be a positive aspect of your marriage.
